Here is my son at 10 months. He absolutely just loved crawling around on HIS chair out in the green. He is such a little man now and I think you can tell by all the different facial expressions. As he is getting more teeth he loves to play with his tongue.

Practice makes perfect- a statement very true. Not that I am anywhere near perfect in anyway in life, but I am trying. ;) So I practice. Or I do not call it practice, becuase I think it sounds a bit boring, but I go out and shoot and shoot what I can, and have fun. My nieces make great models. I grab them every now and then. It is fun to capture them on camera from year to year. And they help me get better at photography. And I love natural light. So much love!

This young, talented lady is a song writer, singer and fabulous piano player. Her voice is, to me, very energizing and happy, strong, and vibrant. If I weren't so shy I would take singing lessons with her. But I know her and that makes me intimidated. I am working on it, my intimidation. Maybe I will get over it one day and get to it, to practice MY singing. Oh it would be so fun. Here are some recent images we did, some that she may use for her own business,where she teaches piano. I LOVE portraiture, my favorite type of photography, and I think it shines through here. ENJOY!

Studio Photography without the studio!

You do not necessarily need a studio to create studio feel photos. A wonderful window and cool decor will do just fine. Or you can just hang a sheet or material, pull it out a bit from the wall and voila there you have your studio. Here are images of my little son. I think they are lovely, I am happy I have them. I normally prefer the more natural look of a photo, but in these pictures I get a real clean shot of my son. Which, I have to say, I like a lot too.

What if he doesn't like them though? He might think that these are the most uncool shoes you could ever wear? What would I know, yet I will put them on him. However, really, most likely, he will love them. He WILL know CONVERSE don't EVER go out of style. And they are brown. So, thrifting, is great, because I go out there just to look, to see if maybe I can find a "treasure" today. Well, I did find these, and the great thing is Odin wont know whether they are brand spankin' new or some old used ones. He will just love the feeling of wearing shoes. How will I know this? I wont. But the point is, I spent 1 dollar! 1 dollar, and he will look sharp, and should he not like them, well it was just a dollar!

This man knows his engines so to speak. A charming old bug. A glowing, old Honda and a handful of airplanes. Yes he knows them well, and he makes them look good. At least I think so!! If you want to get up in the air this guy should take you. He is a mechanic and a pilot. He gives lessons. IF I had the guts to go up in the air, which I don't! but if, then I would want this guy there, for sure. I love the photos Nate, hope you do too.

 There is one thing we LOVE to do, go to the beach, the ocean! It is also amazingly fun to photograph at the beach, especially at sunset. What great photos one can get with the amazing light. I love the last photo of my daughter running on the pier, trying to "catch " the sun as it sets.

It is sweet to have friends who will pose for you, do crazy things with you, who will be there for you in all weather, who will go a bit out of their own way for you, just because you are you and she is she. D, you know you are all this to me. I am so grateful to know you. Making great, new friendships as I get (a bit) older, is a very wonderful thing. I am hoping for that farm soon, where I will holla my owl howl when dinner is ready and you and yours will come running through the fields to me. Well, I can dream, can't I?

Wow! Easter! Really? Well, I guess so, but to me it was just another weekend. I guess having no family around, it sort of was just another day. But, BUT we managed to paint some eggs and a few other eggy things. It was fun. And we also decided to try to tie dye some clothing with the left over dye from the egg dyeing. Well it worked out pretty well. Just have to see how long the dye will actually last on the fabric if at all. I guess we will see. Maybe if I put the garment in the dryer really hot it will make it stay. Anyways it was fun!!! Here are some eggs, in case you did not see enough this past weekend!!

My friends asked me a year ago, as they started planning their wedding, if I wanted to be their photographer. Well, it is a bit far ahead for me to say yes, right now, I said. And that is only because I am a gypsy, or nomad or whatever word it is I am looking for. Well, I travel a lot, and for me to commit to something so far ahead was not ok. But it so happened that I was here, where they were getting married, and they waited for me to give them thumps up. I so appreciate that. This wedding was soo beautiful. This couple worked so hard, together with awesome friends and family, to put together their dream wedding. I loved every detail of it. The color of her dress, the hand made ornaments, then strung tin lights, etc. etc. Here are images from their wedding, I tried to select out, but gosh it is hard. So here are a lot of images. I forget sometimes how I love sunsets. What a beautiful thing. Here in Florida I am blessed with a beautiful sunset everyday if I want to. This weekend we enjoyed a beautiful sunset with amazing, dramatic sky. My dear friend Emma has been visiting from Sweden. She is my model whenever I get my chance. She is sooooo photogenic and I had a blast photographing her for about 30 minutes before the light went bye bye. Here are some images from Saturday night at Fort De Soto Beach.

I really am trying not to buy new things. AT ALL! Trying to reuse and recycle as much as possible. And really it is SO possible with pretty much anything except I guess, food. But sometimes it is just that little amzing thing that one just has to have. You know that feeling I am sure. Like for me this cup here, was one of those, I gotta have it, things. I love this cup. I love coffee. This cup is not only so cute, but coffee taste SO good in it. Ok, so I gave myself the OK to purchase this cup, and I am telling you it makes me very happy. Silly I know, that a cup would make me happy. But, it is the little things in life that makes me happy. This thing is one of those little things.

Enjoy the little things in life, please! ( The cup is porcelain and the top is silicone, I believe good to drink out of and environmentally friendly.)

This is Florida in a nutshell. And Also the Caribbean I am sure, and Hawaii too. I love palm trees. When you do not grow up with palm trees, palm trees are amazingly tropical and yes, amazing. When you grow up with them they are probably just another tree. They are so amazing they grow on the beaches here and they provide natural shade. No need to bring an umbrella for shade, just the need of relocating as the sun moves. I love palm trees and I love Florida and I love that I soon get to share it with my dear friend from Sweden! Yippie!!!

Hello everyone! Happy new year to you! I have had a wonderful start to the new year by welcoming my little baby boy on January 4th. The little guy was supposedly due on Christmas Eve 2010 but decided 2011 was his year. With that I thought I ought to kick off my business now FOR REAL. So I am doing so. I have no fancy website or fancy blog either. But I am happy with my blog and I have made some changes to it. There are the labels where you can click and look at my previous and future postings. You can find the ones that you might like most. I also added a gallery link, not that fancy either. I have posted in the gallery some of my personal favorites. I just simply love this time of year. The lights, the colors, the coziness that is in the air. I could have Christmas for ever!!! I love our tree this year. Oh this was very very yummy. German oven pancake. I make Swedish pancakes normally. They are so good. Thin like crepes. We also make oven pancake in Sweden, but it turns out different than German oven pancake. This is weird to me, when the ingredients are exactly the same. My dear friend Molly, cooked this for us, and I think maybe now it is my favorite kind of pancake, but question is will I ever be able to make it so it taste like how she made it? And the secret is...squeezed lemon, powdered sugar, and jelly. Or preferably fresh fruit. Oh heavens so simple and so good.

I actually have always had a thing for roses, it is not my favorite flower, Daisy is, but I love roses too. I always used to dry them and keep them for years. I thought it was so very pretty. So as a photographer, I cannot not photograph a rose when I see it. And with my yummy macro lens, pictures turn out very artistic and somewhat abstract.

My daughter is sporting her new ballerina tutu. First with no tattoo and then with tattoo. The tutu is cutest little thing, and the best find ever. She found it of course, she eyes things better than I. How much did we pay? 50 cents. The beautiful bow in her hair is made by my dear friend Dori. If you would like to purchase bows, contact me and I will give you her info. And lastly, Bianca is going to have a real tattoo when she turns 18 she told me.

Of course in my eyes, even though I love pink, it just looks better in B&W. Right?

My daughter received this cute little bear from her "boyfriend". Oh how cute is that. He came running over to her with it, super excited to give it to her. Aaaaaaawwwwwhhhhhhh! She was very proud. The cute part of it is that they both probably do not really get the power of the words "I LOVE YOU". But we all know the feeling of receiving a gift from someone, especially someone special. Strawberry picking is nice, very nice. The smell is amazing! Sweet, sweet, SWEET strawberries. You can smell them from far away. And to eat them as you pick, yum, yum. Well, sure we eat one or two, have got to try out what we are picking right? Bianca had so much fun and it is so rewarding coming home with buckets full of fresh, sweet berries. Macro is fun. One can be so creative with it. I learned about a inexpensive way to be able to do macro. I have a old prime lens, Minolta, that I can use on my Canon if I put it backwards. WOW! Bought a few rings to make it attach properly, it was so inexpensive. And it works really well, but it is super hard to do it. But that makes for great practice. Here are some images I think are cool! I bet you cannot tell what one is of though!!

I have been trying out my new macro system. I love it, because it was inexpensive and it is hard to use it. Makes me feel like I am really working when I try to take a photo. I am using a old Minolta 45 mm prime lens backwards on my Canon! Thank you to my friend who showed me this. This way I have a great way of accomplishing cool macro effects for literally nothing. But like I said it is only to use under no pressure circumstances, at least for me.

Had an awesome shoot with my dear friend Kim just the other day. She is so photogenic and so spunky! So it is not a problem at all to photograph her. Great for me to get to play with camera, light, action!

I am caring for these two sweet puppies this week. Mia, the chihuahua is so cool. 5 years ago when she was having puppies, I had to have one, because Mia was and is just so cool. I have Maya now, who is even cooler! ;) The other dog, Lady, is the best. She is the alfa dog and looks out for everyone. She makes sure my daughter Bianca is in good hands. That is why you are so cool too, Lady! (She was very shy of the camera though!)

Flower frenzy!

I went on a walk yesterday and had brought my camera. A lot of times I leave and then I go, oh, the camera! Hm, what is that for a photographer? Well, it came along yesterday and where I am staying at the moment people take really good care of their gardens, and the city takes great care of the surrounding areas. It gave me the opportunity to photograph some flowers. If you are not THAT into flowers just skip this post, it is so very looooooooooooong and full of flowers! ;)

California Poppy!

The views in the Bay Area is just remarkable. San Francisco is so beautiful to watch from a distance, it is so white and pure looking. The Golden Gate Bridge is so radiantly red, and the coastline is so pretty. I oh and ah and make people crazy because I keep saying how beautiful it is ten thousand times over. Sorry. Well, this post is not about the views in particular, but it is about something else very beautiful, the state flower. The poppy! Is it not pretty beautiful? :)

My little girl is 4!

What happened with time? I thought I just had you yesterday! Wow, you are a big girl now for real! You are also the best girl ever. Thank you for being such a nice, sweet girl! Started the celebration by making cupcakes, and of course heart cupcakes.

Ate those.....the day before your BIG day!

Opened some presents in the morning, mommy made home made wrapping paper!

Played in the park for a while!

Went to the Exploratorium, and that was great fun!

Stopped to take in some great views of the bay!

With mommy too..who just realized her ear rings are bigger than her actual ears!

Then home to enjoy some real great cake! It was soooo yummy!

You are so big now Bianca!

Some great gifts arrived just on time from Sweden! That was so much fun!

And little girl, you are now 4 years old! AMAZING!!!!!!

Southwest tribute!

I remember the first time I flew with Southwest airlines many years ago. (That made me sound very old, but I am not!!) I remember how the flight attendants all of a sudden started singing "Who let the dogs out" just like that. The guys from the group who sings that song was on the plane. I thought it was so great, how the attendants had so much fun while working. They did their job professionally and added a little spice to it. Since then, every time I fly with Southwest it seems I am always laughing or at least smiling while flying. Thanks to their awesome crew. Here is a tribute to Southwest from me, taken with my little, inexpensive point and shoot. I love hearts, anything hearts, well Southwest has them. Maybe that is why I love this airline so much. They fly with love.
